COVENANT Babies’ Home is more than just a home. We are a family of givers from different races with a God-given task to provide a safe harbor to all abandoned and hurting children starting from UGANDA.
We credit our success at CBH to God for giving our founders’ visionary beliefs, which are the heart of this organization to-date:
CBH believes that every child has a unique contribution to make to their society. We do everything within our power to help children heal and develop self-esteem to reach their God-given potential.
We believe unconditional love is the foundation on which all healing begins. The entrance of each CBH facility features the words “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."
These babies, who have seen and endured the worst that society has to offer, deserve the best that we can provide while they are in the care of CBH.
All these beliefs stay close to the hearts of all involved in CBH to ensure that the aspirations for the organization stay consistent from that first day we first begun.
CBH exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational and spiritual needs of abandoned, neglected and at-risk babies. We focus our efforts on intervention, family resilience and community outreach.
CBH is a babies’ home started by ‘Maama’ Mary to provide care for totally orphaned and abandoned children plus those at high risk of being exploited, from newborn to 3 years old. CBH has been home to over 105 children since initiation. Our goal is to find a permanent Loving home for all of our children, majorly through reuniting with their families/relatives or relationship-based adoption. CBH is located in Mpambire - Mpigi, Uganda 26 miles from Kampala the capital, and about 50miles from Entebbe International Airport via Entebbe Express Highway.
We can house up to 32 children at any given time, ages birth to 3 years. Children are referred to us through the local authorities and the social welfare system majorly the District Probation Office. Many are bereaved: when their parents die due to AIDS, Road Accidents, Birth difficulties, or other factors. Many are abandoned in health facilities after birth. Others are found abandoned at bus parks, in public washrooms, or on the street.
Covenant Babies’ Home employs thirteen workers to run the home, and also enjoys the assistance of a number of volunteers from around the world who donate their time year after year.
CBH started and operates by living faith in a rich-loving, heavenly Father. He encourages us, to practice one religion “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27.
